Empathy First
I started Lewallen Counseling Services, PLLC in 2022, after more than nine years in various mental service roles. My motivation for starting my own practice was to be able to put the client first, rather than corporate objectives.
I became a fully Licensed Professional Counselor in 2019.
Trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Approaches, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Gottman Method for Couples Counseling.
I currently provide telehealth services to clients aged 18 years and older. I provide individual therapy and couples therapy. I also consider my practice to be a safe place for LGBTQIA clients.
I work to assist clients in developing skills for:
- Establishing Healthy Relationships
- Positive Communication
- Managing emotions
- Creating Self-Awareness
- Increasing Self-Esteem
- Maintaining or Creating Healthy Attachment Styles and Boundaries
- Creating and Maintaining Goals
Previous experience in assisting clients with severe depression, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, grief, domestic abuse dynamics, trauma, substance abuse, ENM (Ethically Non Monogamous) relationships, ADHD, anger management, previous incarceration and adjusting to reintegrating into society, as well as interpersonal issues.
I believe in establishing a trusting, no judgement environment, to support clients in healing; while bringing light to their strengths and protective factors. You should never be defined by a diagnosis, I always see a human first.
